Name: Brett Comber
When not working will be found doing: Trying to get out on my bike or having fun with my son. Most definetly finding time to drink coffee and read the paper. Favourite riding story: Probably riding with Ned Overend in America - he was riding a X-country bike and I was riding a downhill bike and he still beat me to the bottom. History in Bike shops/work places: About 25 odd years ago I started working in bike shops. As a way of supplementing my riding I began working as an after school boy, and have been on and off ever since with different jobs around the biking scene.

When not working will be found doing: Well if I'm not out riding the local roads or trails then I'm most probably relaxing on the balcony looking out on the neighbourhood whilst enjoying a G & T or two! Favourite riding story: There must be far too many stories to mention as I can't think of a standout favourite ride...Rapaki, Mt Vernon, Traverse, Thomsons, Flying Nun, Dyers Pass, and then the descent homewards...and Beer or G and T's to follow! History in Bike shops/work places: I've had a really diverse work history, previously I have been involved in Banking, Telecommunications, The Liquor Industry, Hospitality and Printing but I've been with Avantiplus RIccarton since November 2008.

When not working will be found doing: I'll still be found fiddleing with one of my bikes. Favourite riding story: Falling off on the fourX course in Morzine in my first hour of riding there, resulting in giving myself 10 stitches for the week. History in Bike shops/work places: Ok...I have worked at the Cycle courier, several bike shops in the UK including Condor Cycles, a year with Cannondale in Holland, the Army for five years and then to New Zealand where I have been with Avanti Plus Riccarton.

When not working will be found doing: Either out swimming, running, biking, or relaxing in a coffee shop Favourite riding story: A lot of favourite memories from the road. Favourite ride was the old short bays in Christchurch. Also, long rides through France and all the little villages you descend into. History in Bike shops/work places: Previous to Avanti Plus Riccarton I worked at Wensleys Avanti Plus in Invercargill.

When not working will be found doing: Living, breathing, biking. Favourite riding story: Canada would be my favourite riding place. Many great stories from there... History in Bike shops/work places: No history in bike shops. Have mainly worked in outdoor places. i.e. outdoor education centres. Name: Helen Trevathan Whiteley
When not working will be found doing: Chasing a small child. Favourite riding story: On a shop ride down Ellesmere Road, Brett was fit and managed to crack us all. Maybe his favourite ride? History in Bike shops/work places: I can only thank Brett for the honour of introducing me to the bike working industry. Previous to his phone call one day, despite having loved bikes for a long time, I was a bike shop virgin.

History in Bike shops/work places: I've basically been a bike shop man my whole life. Specializing in hubs for a while I decided to pursue the Dunedin University student dream, cutting a long ride short, I'm now with the amazing people at Avanti Plus riccarton.
