More than 50 years ago in Tokyo, a father produced Japan's first bicycle racing apparel for his son, a promising racer. Today, Pearl Izumi USA, Inc. has evolved into the world's foremost line of technical- performing and quality manufactured sports apparel. The name Pearl Izumi USA, Inc. is derived from the gem "pearl" and an area of Japan known for its clear water "Izumi." Literally translated, the name means, "fountain of pearls." Pearl Izumi USA, Inc. sponsored the US National Team (the team that won nine gold medals in the 1984 Olympic Games) and several major trade teams during the mid-eighties. Through these associations and the actual performance of Pearl Izumi USA, Inc. products, the line enjoys an almost cult-type following.
Pearl Izumi traces its roots to Japan more than 50 years ago when a dad gave his son, a promising rider, cycling clothes to wear in a bike race. Today the company makes men's cycling clothes and women's cycling clothes as well as cycling footwear, gloves, hats and socks and more.
Translated literally, Pearl Izumi means "fountain of pearls." The company's signature logo, a stylized "i" and a "p," appears on Pearl Izumi clothing as well as footwear, including bike socks, shoe covers, men's mountain bike shoes, women's mountain bike shoes, men's road bike shoes, women's road bike shoes and women's socks.

The company developed the famous Hugi hub into the bicycle market and since then moved into the production of air shocks, rims and wheelsets. Based in the UK and born out of a desire to have clean and functional bikes Muc-Off is one of the go-to brands for bike care. Its instantly recognisable pink colour can be found in workshops, race kits and home garages everywhere.
