BIKE RENTALS for BIKING in & around NELSON & NZ We have a large selection of quality hire bikes and accessories available and will do our best to meet your needs with specialist service from our store at 114 Hardy Street.
ROAD BIKE HIRE: We have a wide selection of mountain style CITY BIKES and basic CROSS BIKES (hybrids) including women’s frames suitable for the day tripper. You may wish to visit the beach, the local vineyards or ride to Richmond or Rabbit Island. These bikes are for journeys on paved roads or along the local cycle tracks. Maybe a fun day on a bicycle built for two with our Raleigh 220 fun TANDEM!
OFF ROAD MTBs: We have standard mountain bikes, performance MTBs and dual suspension MTBs for the more adventurous rider who wants to check out the many scenic off road trails. Or test yourself on our Nationally Rated DH & XC tracks. Our staff will be happy to show you these trails on our own TRAIL MAP and give you the benefit of their local knowledge. They will be able to suggest a trail that suits your skill level. Perhaps you would like to go with one of our staff on one of our regular scheduled rides.
TOURING BIKES: We have touring style (hybrid) CROSS BIKES fitted with racks ready to take you on your tour to Abel Tasman, Nelson Lakes or Kahurangi National Parks. You may even wish to cycle right around the South Island over a few weeks or go overseas to the North Island. We hire PANNIERS and BOB type trailers. Our very keen touring cyclists on our staff will give you heaps of free advice.
RACES AND EVENTS: We can provide a race bike if you are in town to do an event, or wish to partake in a local club race, depending on availability and size requirements. Check out our events page for information on up coming local events, we even run several of them ourselves. Maybe a go stoking for Mike our owner, on his tandem would appeal on one of his regular training rides. We have maps and information on local rides and can put you in touch with the local biking scene, mountain and road.
HIRE GEAR INCLUDED: All rental bikes come with free of charge: Lock, Bottle Cage, Repair Outfit, Multi Tool and Spare Tube.
HELMETS: By law it is compulsory to wear cycle helmets in New Zealand. We supply helmets for short term hire. For hires longer than one week you will need to supply your own helmet or you may like to purchase one from our extensive range at a discounted price from $35.00.
PICK UP: Bikes can be dropped off in other centres by arrangement. Extra freight charges will apply. Local pick up and delivery can be arranged from your Nelson motel/hotel or the airport for a small charge.
SHOP TRADING HOURS: Monday to Friday 8.00am to 5.30 Saturday 9.00am to 4.00pm (Summer season Sundays 10.00am to 3.00pm)
BUY BACK SCHEME: For hire periods longer than two months we recommend that you use our guaranteed buy back option.

NOTE: For hire periods over two months, buy new, we offer a guaranteed bike buy back option! CONDITIONS OF CYCLE HIRE: The hirer is responsible for repair or replacement costs in cases of damage or loss of any item. This includes tubes. Credit card details are required for each rental for bond purposes. You will be retro-charged for any losses or damage to the rental equipment not reported on return. Late returns will incur charges. Bikes must not be ridden on the beach/mudflats and must come back in clean condition. |
